Kristie Thomas - Ms. Wheelchair Texas 2006

Kristie Thomas, a native of Lewisville, is Ms. Wheelchair Texas 2006. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Texas A&M University. She attends events throughout the state of Texas and the United States promoting disability awareness and serving as a spokeswoman for people with disabilities.

As Ms. Wheelchair Texas 2006, Kristie’s platform focuses on lobbying for better in-home care for individuals with disabilities. Ms. Thomas represented our great state of Texas in the 2006 Ms. Wheelchair America pageant in Little Rock, Arkansas. She is currently developing a non-profit corporation called F.O.R.W.A.R.D. (Funding Organization Reaching and Working to Accommodate Resources for the Disabled), which will enhance state funded in-home health care programs to provide better quality care. Her goal is to bring F.O.R.W.A.R.D. to the national level so that every American with a disability can receive the resources that he or she needs to live independently.

Along with her duties as Ms. Wheelchair Texas, Kristie serves as an Information Developer and Technical Writer for SPX Valley Forge, a contractor for Halliburton. As a devout Catholic Christian, she is dedicated to pro-life issues as she strongly believes in the plans God has for ALL His creation. “For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you.
